Artwork on Label: The label for Misto Mare was created by the renowned Finnish artist Klaus Haapaniemi, known for his imaginative and detailed illustrations with a deep connection to nature. Klaus Haapaniemi drew inspiration for the label directly from his visit to the winery. He unites three worlds - the underwater world with the whale, seahorses and corals, the earth with the imposing Dolomites and the cosmic world with the planets, comets and stars.
About the name: Misto Mare is a blend of various grape varieties from Alto Adige. 200 million years ago, the region was covered by a huge ocean, whose marine sediments contributed to the formation of the Dolomites. With a playful nod to this history, Misto Mare becomes, symbolically, a mix from the sea.
