Valravn 2020 Zinfandel 750ml

Grape: Zinfandel

Region: Sonoma, California

Style: Full-bodied

Winemaker Notes: A very lifted aroma of simmering berry sauce emanates from the glass. In the mouth, there is a cascade of blue and red fruits alike, comprised of copious amounts of blueberry, cassis, and blackberry compote with the faintest hint of blood orange lingering around the perimeter of the core. It is framed in a mocha bean and chocolate ganache flavor. The energetic and long finish presents a sense of freshness that invites further drinking.

Valravn Zinfandel is from old, bush-pruned vines averaging 40 years old (some over 100) across the county's best appellations including Rockpile, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, and Russian River Valley AVAs. Hand-harvested, hand sorted and gently destemmed before fermentation.

Critical Acclaim:

Vinous 90 Points
The 2018 Zinfandel is racy and exuberant, with tons of varietal character. This stylish, budget-friendly red hits all the right notes. Succulent red fruit, mint, cedar and sweet floral notes flesh out in a delicious, affordable wine that over-delivers—big time.
